2010 Presentations and White Paper Guidelines
Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference

Introduction

The Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS) is sponsoring its twenty-sixth annual conference in Reno, Nevada July 12 -16. The conference brings together measurement system users, developers, manufacturers, and researchers to present and discuss innovative applications, research, and technology developments/techniques of common interest. The CMS Committee is soliciting original papers with this Call for Papers on a broad range of innovative metrology topics. Complete abstracts are requested by April 16.

Each year technology leaders have the opportunity to present their work and solutions to CMS colleagues. The Committee takes very seriously the commitment to provide technical papers and presentations that explore technological issues, theory and practice in advancements in coordinate measurement applications. The quantity of accepted presentations will greatly influence the schedule of this year’s conference.

Presentations are only accepted through the criteria listed below where the diverse audience should be enlightened by dynamic, well-researched, well-documented, and informative technology applications representative of the CMS professional society.

Abstract Guidelines

Presentations and papers must be of original content not previously published or under consideration of other conferences or journals. The abstract should state the purpose, hypothesis, tools used in research or investigation, data collected, and a summary or interpretation of the data. Content will not be allowed to sell a product or service. The abstracts will undergo a peer review after which they are accepted or rejected by the conference committee and then allocated to conference sessions. The abstracts will be published before the CMSC event. Conference proceedings will include the presentation and technical papers. Abstracts should be submitted in a Microsoft Word format and limited to 1 page. Please indicate in the abstract if a technical paper will be submitted. Abstracts for presentations have been accepted in the past for review without a supporting technical paper but are not candidates for publication in the Journal of the CMSC. Submissions including technical papers carry more weight in the selection process. Abstracts can be submitted to presentations@cmsc.org Further questions regarding abstract guidelines should be submitted to the Technical Presentation Coordinator.
