From knots in strings, to laser-radar, and from stone etchings to CAD-driven measurements, the metrology industry has obviously undergone significant changes. Where are we in the development of the metrology industry and what is next? Business research on fast-moving industries provides insights into the development of industries that develop over longer time-spans. These insights have already been applied successfully to long-cycle industries such as aerospace and automotive.
What are the implications for the metrology industry? For instance, what products will sell best? What business model will be more successful? What are the best opportunities for your business? While we can't make perfect predictions, we can use a scientifically derived framework to give us insights to answering these questions.
