Talion Edwards is an Associate Technical Fellow in 3D Imaging and Reverse Engineering and the principle investigator for Boeing Research and Technology Reverse Engineering Development task. His primary responsibility is to guide the strategy of the Boeing Non Line of Sight Reverse Engineering technology. Talion also serves as Co-Chairman of the Boeing Enterprise 3D Imaging Community of Practice.
Talion received a BSME from the University of Missouri Rolla in 1997 and earned a MSME from Washington University in 1999 through the Boeing Learning Together program. Talion joined Boeing in 1997 as a mechanisms designer and has worked on virtual reality training and 3D visualization environments. For the last 8 years Talion has been working in BR&T to develop tools and processes related to Reverse Engineering and he holds multiple US patents related to reverse engineering .
Talion coordinates a yearly workshop for the Boeing 3D Imaging Community of Practice in conjunction with the Coordinate Measurement Systems Conference (CMSC). He currently serves as Past Chairman of the executive committee of CMSC and is helping to lead an effort to establish a central certification for industrial metrologists. Talion previously served as vice-chairman of the advisory board for the Society of Manufacturing (SME) Engineers 3D Data Capture/Reverse Engineering Technical Group and has participated on the SME 3D SCANNING conference advisory team and the associated Reverse Engineering workshop.
Talion is a resident of Foristell, MO with his wife Carolyn and three daughters. In his spare time, Talion enjoys riding motorcycles, scuba diving, and competing in triatholons.
