Edward Morse

Dr. Ed Morse received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University for his work studying tolerance analysis and the underlying physics of mechanical assembly.  Prior to this, he worked for the Brown & Sharpe Manufacturing Company in the measuring systems division.  Since 1999, Dr. Morse has been at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he teaches graduate courses in Dimensional Metrology and undergraduate courses in mechanical engineering.  His research interests include geometric tolerancing, uncertainty management, standardization, coordinate metrology and large scale metrology.  Ed is the deputy director of UNC Charlotte's Center for Precision Metrology, and serves on many ASME and ISO standards committees for tolerancing and metrology.
