What you’ll be doing

You will be joining our Operations team in Hood River at our recently constructed facility where you will be responsible for the set up and operation of measuring equipment to perform inspection of components to ensure they have been manufactured to required tolerances.  This includes documenting results, resolving discrepancies, managing equipment and maintaining machine calibration status and records. You will plan and perform inspection activities to ensure the supply of qualified components in the inventory meet production demand.

In addition you will also:

  • Read and understand drawings, recommending drawing corrections if required.
  • Support the resolution of quality issues.
  • Confer with Technicians, Engineers and other staff for design and material changes.

As a member of the team, you will provide support to the technical services team and engineers, and participate in training, briefings and meetings as required.

System Integration/Test Engineer Sr

The individual will be responsible for conducting alignments for the Precision Alignments department under the ATLO Environmental Test Labs & Services organization in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Precision Alignments Lab (PAL) engineer will use a variety of data collection software and instruments such as Optical Theodolites for angle verification, GSI Photogrammetry systems with V-Stars software, FARO and Leica laser trackers with Spatial Analyzer software. Candidate must interface with a wide range of Engineering disciplines including, Systems, Quality, Production, Manufacturing and Test. Knowledge of spatial transformations, 3D CAD modeling, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) a plus.

Shift work and some travel will be required.

Metrology Technician at CMMS Inc

The Metrology Technician is responsible for the implementation of test methods and procedures needed to determine the dimensional features of products, validation and production inspections of all products produced from customer manufacturing and assembly processes. This role will be based in Anacortes Washington but involves consistent travel to all parts of the United States and various parts of the world.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do…

  • Utilize knowledge of ISO/ASME GD&T to interpret engineering layouts, drawings, and documentation of various levels of components, assemblies, and subassemblies using CAD systems
  • Inspect, test, maintain and repair equipment
  • Properly record and report data based on measurement findings
  • Quickly identify and correct measurement errors.
  • Report practical recommendations to ensure efficiency 
  • Identifies project supply and equipment needs and conveys to the appropriate resource to ensure availability 
  • Always aware of safety policy, follows the policy and ensures safe, organized and professional working environment
  • Communicates with other technicians and management to assist with equipment installation, maintenance, and repair techniques

  • 1 year of Metrology experience
  • Knowledge of Metrology equipment (measurement hand tools, laser tracker, CMM, Arm) 
  • Knowledge of Metrology software (Spatial Analyzer or comparable)
  • Technical expertise and process skills in reading and interpreting drawings (GD&T)
  • Ability to obtain passport
  • Desire to travel
  • Pass background and criminal check

Responsibilities include: Create, edit, and run programs to complete dimensional inspections on various assemblies and/or components for manufacturer of bearings and steering systems. Inspections are typically completed with CMM, roundness gages, profile gages, and various hand gages. Inspections may be completed on assemblies (bearings, steering columns, steering rack and pinion) or on a wide variety of individual components from bearing and/or steering assemblies. Often requires communication with Engineers to determine best measurement methods and to review and explain results after measurement.

Position requires a minimum of 3 years of metrology experience including regular use of CMM and strong knowledge of GD&T for gaging. CMM programming (Calypso) experience is highly desired.
