Jean Angelo Beraldin (National Research Council, Canada), P.Eng. M.A.Sc.
 
Angelo is a research scientist with thirty years of research, development and project management experience in various aspects of 3D imaging technology. His main areas of R&D have been in sensor systems engineering, 3D vision systems, and non-contact 3D metrology. He has authored over 180 technical publications in the field of 3D imaging including many keynote addresses and tutorials. His research and development activities in digital 3D imaging have produced technologies that have been licensed and are now being commercialized in various sectors: automotive, aerospace, and cultural heritage. He was part of the team that developed the 3D inspection system used by NASA to assess damage to the space shuttle's heat-shield tiles, and worked on a scientific study of Leonardo da Vinci‘s painting, the “Mona Lisa”. Angelo now works at the NRC’s Measurement Science & Standards (MSS) portfolio where activities in 3D imaging metrology are primarily focused on standards development and industrial client services. Angelo is active in the following committees: ASTM E57 and ISO TC 213.
