Speaker Bio:

Ed Morse worked for the Brown and Sharpe Mfg. Co. in both the Applications and the Advanced Systems groups of the measuring systems division.  He then earned an MS and PhD from Cornell University, and then Joined the Faculty of UNC Charlotte in 1999.  Dr. Morse teaches undergraduate courses in Mechanical Engineering as well as Graduate courses in Metrology in support of the Center for Precision Metrology.  He is chair of ASME Standards Committee B89 Division 4, and serves as a subject matter expert for ISO Technical Committee 213 on Geometric Product Specification and Verification.

The PrecisionPath Consortium's Roadmap for Large-scale Manufacturing

For the last two years, the PrecisionPath Consortium (sponsored by the NIST AMTech program) has been meeting and developing a roadmap for metrology technology in support of large-scale manufacturing.  The work is nearing completion, and this presentation will share some of the highlights of the roadmap, as well as acknowledge the support and hard work of many in the CMS community.
