Russell has some 30 years work experience primarily in the aerospace industry. Most of this experience has been centered about large-scale metrology using optical measurement techniques. Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Russell currently resides in Melbourne, Florida and is employed by Geodetic Systems as Senior Product Specialist. Russell's day-to-day responsibilities include training and customer support, sales, marketing and photogrammetry field projects.
Some of his previous employers include; British Aerospace and Aviation Tool Corporation of London. Aerospace Technologies of Australia (now Boeing). Hawker de Havilland and Vision Metrology Services at the University of Melbourne.
His position at the University of Melbourne allowed him to work closely with some of the world's leading photogrammetry academicians and has augmented his considerable work experience with a solid foundation in the principles of the technology. In 1999, four photogrammetric projects Russel completed were submitted for examination and Vision Metrology Services was awarded the coveted Robert Hoddle Prize for excellence in surveying.
Russell now has over 18 years of hands-on experience using GSI's V-STARS systems on a wide variety of challenging industrial measurements.
