Abstract
Layered process audit is an audit methodology involving functional audit by different layers of the management. CMM is an essential part of the precision measurement engineering and paramount function of Quality Assurance practice in an Aero Engine development. Being a key element for the quality verification of the parts, the function and the equipments needs a control monitoring. The current paper discusses an approach towards adopting the Layered Process Audit for this essential function. The paper gives a thrust upon the adoption of the different levels of the audit and the checklist and gives an approach which can be followed for the audit of CMM function to be on continual improvement path.
