Coordinate Metrology Society Launches Digital Library of Original Technical Papers

CMS Opens the Vault Door to its Legacy of
Measurement Knowledge, Research and Advances

Weatherford, TX – September 4, 2018 – The Coordinate Metrology Society® (CMS) today announced the launch of its new digital library of original technical papers delivered by metrology experts over the past twelve years at its annual conference — the Coordinate Metrology Society Conference (CMSC). The library is an online archival of over 100 technical papers and journals covering a broad range of industry topics including 3D measurement, inspection, assembly, best practices, new innovations and more. The release of these valuable assets is meant to further support the research, development and progression of advanced manufacturing, scientific studies, industry standards, and Smart Factory initiatives. Developed in partnership with Quality Digest, publisher of the Journal of the CMSC since 2006, the periodical is distributed twice a year in the Autumn and Spring by the Coordinate Metrology Society. Each issue devotes its pages to the finest white papers presented by industry professionals at the annual CMSC. The new CMS library of technical papers and journals can be accessed at www.cmsc.org/technical-papers-journals.

The digital library offers a variety of query tools to locate technical papers and specific topics by keywords, timelines, titles, authors, and measurement categories. Listed in descending chronological order, the full selection of technical papers and full issues of the Journal of the CMSC can be downloaded. The printed version of the Journal of the CMSC can be purchased for a fee plus shipping and handling. CMS members in good standing can download all materials for free, as the annual subscription fee for the journal is included in the organization's yearly membership dues of $35. Non-members will pay fees from $35 - $70 plus shipping and handling depending on the selected publication.

"The Coordinate Metrology Society is extremely proud of this scientific and technical repository of white papers presented at our conference. There is simply no other source worldwide for this wealth of industry research that measurement professionals can now access and expand upon for their own research projects," states Scott Sandwith, CMSC Chair, and long-time Presentations Committee member. "Diverse applications of portable, three-dimensional measurement technologies are represented in this digital library. We are excited to finally open the knowledge vault," said Sandwith.

Renowned for its slate of unique technical papers and presentations year after year, CMSC 2018 once again offered more than 25 new technical papers from distinguished speakers and leading metrology practitioners from around the world. Metrology practitioners, quality control managers, manufacturing executives, scientists, students, and educators convened at the 5-day event from July 23 – 27, 2018 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, NV. The Coordinate Metrology Society supports the career development needs of measurement professionals through education, certification, and connects conference delegates to leading OEMs, software developers and service providers.
