Michael McCarthy Heads up the National FreeForm and XCT Research Centres at NPL UK. He has a PhD in High Precision Dimensional Optical Metrology from Canfield Institute of Technology. He has built a number of world class optical dimensional measurement instruments during his extensive career at NPL and these are currently used to provide traceable measurements both in UK and many far reaching parts of the globe. He is a principle member of the ISO TC/213 committee 'Dimensional Geometrical Produces Specification and Verification" and the BSI TW/4 committee for "Engineering drawing, metrology, precision measurement'.
