Coordinate Metrology Society® to Offer New Certification Programs for Measurement Professionals

CMS to Conduct Pilot Testing for CMM and 3D Scanner Certifications at CMSC 2018

Weatherford, TX – March 5, 2018 – The Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS), the eminent membership association for measurement professionals, today announced plans to launch two new Certification Programs in 2018. The CMS Certification Committee will offer a pilot examination for the industry's first Level-One Certification for coordinate measuring machines (CMM) operators. The proctored, online assessment consists of about 200 multiple choice questions covering foundational theory and CMM common practices. The CMM community is invited to take the pilot exam at no cost during the Coordinate Metrology Society Conference (CMSC) in Reno, NV from July 23 – 27, 2018. Mountain-high Coordinate Metrology Society Conference Attracts Top Talent in Portable Measurement

Weatherford, TX – August 2, 2017 – The Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS) announced today the 2017 Coordinate Metrology Society Conference (CMSC) in Snowbird, Utah, hosted hundreds of visitors and featured more than 20 original technical presentations from July 17 – 21, 2017. The 33rd CMSC conference reached new heights at 8,000 ft above sea level at the Snowbird Convention Center, where portable metrology professionals convened for the annual transfer of knowledge from technology veterans and solution providers. Keith Bevan of NPL (National Physical Laboratory – UK)
served as Conference Chairman for 2017 and lead a dedicated team of elected and appointed volunteers to organize the event. Expert and novice metrologists and scientists from 12 countries around the world were on hand to experience the topical and interesting talks, as well as the most up-to-date market innovations.
